Fox News has hired former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo as a contributor, the network announced Thursday.

Fox News’s hiring of Pompeo, already a frequent guest on the network, installs another top Trump administration official and staunch defender of the former president as a fixture on the network, which has also brought on former White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany. Fox News announced last week that McEnany would co-host "Outnumbered," which airs weekdays at noon.

Pompeo will offer analysis on Fox News and Fox Business both during the day and during prime-time hours, Fox News Media said in a release. He’ll make his debut as a contributor Friday on "Fox & Friends," the network’s signature morning show.
“Mike Pompeo is one of America’s most recognized and respected voices on foreign policy and national security issues,” Fox News CEO Suzanne Scott said in the release. “I look forward to his contributions across our range of platforms to share his distinct perspective with our millions of viewers.”

Pompeo, who served as former President Donald Trump’s secretary of State from 2018 until Trump left office earlier this year, has teased a potential 2024 presidential run if Trump opts not to run. The former secretary of State recently visited to Iowa, beginning networking in a key early nominating state.

In a fiery Conservative Political Action Conference speech in February, Pompeo drew some of the biggest applause at the conference in lauding the Trump administration's "America First" agenda.

“I intend to give viewers a candid, no-nonsense look at geopolitics, international relations and the America First policies that helped chart the course for unprecedented American prosperity and security,” Pompeo said in the Fox News release.
